My Favourite Activity And Inspiring Person

This is my first blog of 2018 and I am so inspired for this year I think it will be an amazing one. One of my favourite things to do is go in the ocean. Recently I just learnt how to stand up on my surfboard. I feel so calm in the ocean, it makes me feel like nothing else in the world matters anymore. I love to just swim freely and think about life. I feel so engaged with my thoughts in the water.  It is so nice to have an escape from the rest of the world.  I love to go in the water with one of my best friends, Luca especially because she teaches me a lot of things about surfing and body boarding. we try go together as much as we can. In the ware the way I move so swiftly is so relaxing. I just feel so at peace with myself. the satisfaction when you stand on a surfboard for the first time is incredible. I just don't know anything that gives you that same feeling. I find it so lushes and full fulling to just float in the water. I enjoy the water so much.


My mentor is Mrs van Tonder she is just so inspiring. She is so wise and speaks powerful word. I just love her so much she helps me find myself and  she guides me to where i should go. I want to be like her one day and inspire people as she does. When I need advice the first person I go to is her, she is such an amazing person. her heart is so pure and clear. I  have always looked up to her. I think she is a beautiful person. She is my drama teacher and she helps me become a better actress.

    Dear Emily,
    This such a beautiful post. I love that you are a person that actually Isn't afraid of the water, instead you can just relax and dive under the waves with me. I definitely agree with what you said about Mrs Van Tonder. I absolutely love spending time with you in the water and on the long board.

In our English class at the moment we are reading the book called Wonder by R.J. Palacio. I am enjoying it so much so far it has already changed me and we are not even finished the book yet. So far in this book I think the thing that is standing out the most is the way the people at Bleacher Prep ( Auggie's school) learn to treat him. They start to get used to the way he looks and it shows you how we are all actually the same in a way we are all human being and we all share the same problems without even knowing it. Although Auggie's problems at school might be for a different reason, everyone suffers with similar problems. This story has changed me by showing me that we all different, some more so than others but how we treat them plays such a big role in their lives. We don't realize how we can hurt someone who is different to us in anyway, not just like Auggie. One the first day of LIT I felt very excited, agitated but a good type of agitated. Bet I was mainly excited. We were told they we are stranded on an island. But we have nothing and we have to survive on this island for three whole days. We watched a little clip of Bear Grylls. Then we did a scavenger hunt and we found some strange oranges.

Poetry ILT

Last week all the grade 6s did a poetry ILT. It was so interesting and amazing. I learnt so many new things not only about poetry but about myself. it was so different to be in such a small group but I loved it so much. What is poetry? Poetry is is when a person writes or expresses their feeling and thought through words.It is where they tell others what they think or what their opinions through poems. Why do people write poetry?  People write poetry to express themselves and show other people things they can't explain. I think they write poetry also so people can show their true selves in ways they can't normally do. The activities we did  We did  seven tasks during the ILT which included of a poetry slam, a choral verse, writing a themed poem, blackout poetry, imagery, terminology and our self reflection.
